Sara's Flat

This map is an approximate reproduction of Sara's flat, or, better, of the parts visible in the analysed sequence. To reconstruct the map it has been used also the next sequence, in particular to understand where the main door is exactly placed. This first plan marks Carlo's (C) and Sara's (S) movements in almost every shot in which they appear, identified by the same progressive number used in the list of shots above. In the final part of the sequence the two are in a sort of cellar, and they barely move, keeping the positions marked in the plan: Sara lies on the stairs, Carlo lies on the floor, both stabbed to death.

This plan marks the most significant camera movements. With its 78 shots, this sequence has many repeated camera positions: that is why only the main ones are marked. The final part of the sequence, wholly set in a sort of cellar, is problematic from the point of view of the camera positions and movements. In the beginning of this part, indeed, the characters and the camera are in the marked positions. Once they are stabbed, the two stay on the floor, and the sequence is brought to an end by a series of close and very close ups, with the characters relatively still.
