Dimension Films to remake SUSPIRIA

"Variety reports that Dimension Films has announced plans to remake Dario Argento’s classic SUSPIRIA. Stephen (SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE) Katz will script; no director has yet been assigned. And we’re too depressed to go any further."

PROFONDO ARGENTO Update
I have just read the IL CARTAIO chapter of the forthcoming book from Alan Jones. It is due from FAB Press in October to co-incide with the release of the film in Italy. This wil make the book the most comprehensive book on Dario's career so far.

Italian TENEBRAE DVD
On June 25th Medusa will be releasing TENEBRAE on DVD in Italy. It will be widescreen 1.85:1 (anamorphic), Italian Dolby 5.1/2.0, English Dolby 2.0 and have optional English & Italian subtitles. No details on any extras yet.

Italian OPERA DVD re-release
Checci Gori have re-released the film this time in it's correct aspect ratio and with the sequence of reversed film corrected. It also has an English track as well as Italian with subtitles. This makes it exactly the same as the UK release from Arrow. In fact I would hazard a guess that the only difference is the cover artwork.

Hot news from Cannes!
Alan Jones has just returned from Cannes and can report that Neil Agran of Arrow Films has signed a deal to distribute IL CARTAIO in the UK early in 2004. This could possibly include a theatrical release.

Nonhosonno released in Croatia
Yes, Dario's last film is still making appearances on new DVD releases. This release is multilingual and also appears in Slovenia, Serbia and Macedonia.

Dario on MTV
Dario was the main guest at TRL which aired on Tuesday 27th on MTV Italy under the heading: "the master of thrilling Dario Argento comes into TRL to talk about his future projects"

Blue Underground and Argento
In an interview with Bill Lustig over at www.dvdmaniacs.net, he states that Blue Underground will be revisiting the Argento titles that were released by Anchor Bay as the rights revert back to him.

Italian 2 EVIL EYES DVD
On the 11th of June DUE OCCHI DIABOLICI is being released on DVD in Italy. Very few details available but it is Dolby 5.1 and region 2 PAL.

Film magazine Shivers has just published Alan Jones full Liam Cunningham interview in issue 105. Alan has also asked Liam to attend FrightFest 2003, subject to his work schedule, to talk to the fans. More details when, and if, he confirms.
