Good news or what?

Asia NOT pregnant!
JT Leroy has said on his online message board that Asia is not pregnant and that the 'baby' is the film she is making from his book "The Heart is Decietful Above All Things". That rumour is cleared up then.

Asia pregnant again?
Rumours persist that Asia is pregnant again by long term friend JT Leroy. I cannot confirm this but the 'Advocate' ran the story particularly because Leroy is gay. (it's a gay and lesbian newspaper). More news when I get it...

News from Dragon Entertainment
Not only have Dragon just released a 3 disc DVD of DEMONS with nearly 4 hours of new extra material but they have some cool Argento films in the wings. They will also release an uncut TENEBRAE and DEEP RED in another 3 disc special edition. Michael has just returned from Rome where he did a brand new 2 1/2 hour interview with Dario which will be released as part of a new documentary INSIDE ARGENTO. Sounds good.

Pre-Cannes dubbed version of OPERA from Arrow
Arrow Films UK DVD release of OPERA (under the English title, TERROR AT THE OPERA), seems to feature the original English pre-Cannes soundtrack with Inspector Alan Santini´s voice dubbed by a different actor (Urbano Barbarini himself per chance?), displaying a distinct Italian accent not present in the Anchor Bay DVD.

UK Suspiria DVD problems
After the reports of the DTS audio track being out of synch on this new release, I can confirm that on my copy at least, the 5.1 track is also the same! To my knowledge, this has not been mentioned before. There is an address to return any faulty ones to which is:

VIS ART
THE STUDIOS
8 HORNTON PLACE

Anchor Bay UK TENEBRAE DVD!

UK Suspiria DVD Fault Update!
This statement was issued today by Anchor Bay's PR company:

"++ SUSPIRIA (Anchor Bay Entertainment UK). Available to buy on DVD from 28th October 2002.

Further to the news story issued yesterday concerning the technical fault on Suspiria we have been asked to emphasise that the majority of people's viewing pleasure will not be affected by the fact that the DTS soundtrack is out of sync. Normal 5.1 surround sound is not affected.

For those people with DTS (Digital Theatre Systems) compatible DVD players and the specialist equipment needed to encode it, who would like to return their disc, please refer to the information supplied yesterday.

Apologies for this partial retraction but we can only provide the information we are given. Clearly this is a minor issue for the mass market after all but is important news for the small number of people with specialist DTS equipment."

29th October 2002
UK Opera DVD delayed
Unfortunately the OPERA DVD has now been put back to January. Arrow Films felt that they would have a much better opportunity of realising the full potential of the film if it were delayed until next year. They apologise for the repeated delays.

29th October 2002
UK Suspiria DVD Fault!
This email was sent out by Anchor Bay's PR department:

"SUSPIRIA (Anchor Bay Entertainment UK). Available to buy on DVD from 28th October 2002. We have just been informed that there there is a technical fault on the Double Disc edition of Dario Argento's Suspiria which was released on Monday.

Due to a mistake by Anchor Bay's DVD authoring company Visart, the wrong DLT master was delivered and some discs were replicated with an out of sync DTS soundtrack. For those who have already purchased the DVD they should return it (with their address details) to:

VIS ART
THE STUDIOS
8 HORNTON PLACE
KENSINGTON
LONDON
W8 4LZ

It will be replaced free of charge with a newly authored DVD. Anchor Bay UK sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused."
